We took
Southwest Airline flights to Los Angles last Thursday morning, spent the day and half of Friday at Santa Monica, and stayed at JW Marriott as shared in the post
easy Marriott Rewards. The hotel room was a nice and quiet room with a king-size bed and partial view of Santa Monica beach. I would not regard JW Marriott as a luxurious hotel. The great thing about this hotel is that it is located about 200 ft away from the beach and nearby local malls and restaurants. We also walked comfortably to dine at a nearby Thai fusion restaurant for dinner, and walked around for about two miles. It was very relaxing.

Overnight and all-day parking inside the hotel is $35 with only valet parking option, which is still worth it considering parking in that neighborhood is hard-to-find and expensive.

I would not pay $300 out of my pocket for a one-night JW Marriott hotel stay, but using points to redeem would be worth it. The lofty price is reasonable due to the easy accessibility to the beach with near-perfect weather and to the local stores and restaurants from early in the morning to late evening.

What is the best part of our Santa Monica visit? It is definitely early morning beach walk, with free Marriott hotel stay.
