Citi 50000 AAdvantage Bonus Miles Card at citicards.com; Good for the Next 365 days?

Credit Card Bonus +40K >>

Application for CitiBank AAdvantage Credit Card via expired landing page with special promotions is known to work.  This time, I applied Citi Platinum Select AAdvantage Visa Signature Card via an expired landing page with 50K promotion miles as an experiment.   The Citi AA card came early November, 2012.  I called the customer care 1-888-766-2484 to confirm the card is eligible for 50K AAdvantage bonus miles, because there was no paper in the approval card envelope that arrived later and talked about 50K bonus.  Citi Customer Care forwarded my call to the American Airlines Customer Care because Citi does not have knowledge about the AA miles promotion details.

Update on Dec 29, 2012. The expired link worked. I received 50K, not 40K AA miles after spending +$3000 by end of 3rd month. More interestingly, AA also sent me free two Admirals Club passes for access to Admirals Club Lounges.  The passes expire on December 31, 2013.

Several observations are made, as CitiBank re-introduces the 50K AAdvantage bonus miles program again during

  1. I tried several expired Citi 50K landing pages which all point to the same landing page https://creditcards.citi.com/credit-cards/aadvantage-credit-cards.  It looks like Citi did a clean-up or would do one every year end.
  2. Since expired landing page always work, I would keep an active landing page URL and re-use it later .. probably for the next 360 days.  The URL is http://creditcards.citicards.com/usc/Travel/2012/Nov/AAdvantage/Dual/50k/default.htm
  3. Be conservative in planning credit card approval.  CitiBank this time said they need to evaluate further which took them one week to approve and another week to ship the card.  I planned to use it for Black Friday week shopping both on-line and in-store.
